We spend 90% of our time indoors – most of it at home. We like to think the air within our home is clean but, surprisingly enough, it is not. Many of us use filters in our home ventilation system in the hope of removing harmful particles from the air. Biological and chemical contaminants such as mold, bacteria, viruses, allergens, cooking and pet odors, cigarette smoke, and a host of other air-borne pollutants
pass through even the highest-efficiency filters like sand through a tennis racket. Although it is very difficult to control all the allergens in the household, there are some solutions that can be expensive to implement, but will prove to clean the air that you breathe.

HEPA filters effectively remove 99.97% of all particulates such as pollen and dust that pass through the filter, returning purified to your home or office. HEPA filter technology is among the best technology available for air cleaners. It is a very effective system but the filters must be changed to remain effective. Electrostatic or electronic systems by Friedrich clean with charged plates and save the cost of replacement filters but requires that the plates be washed. Both of these main technologies remove particles but not chemicals or odors. UV is also sometimes employed with a HEPA filter to eliminate microorganisms. These systems can be very expensive to implement, but it will keep air cleaner than compared to a standard air filter in your heating and cooling systems.
